GMAC Financing GMAC forced auto policy scam - watch it!

I recently leased a GM vehicle. I noticed the contract stated specific insurance coverage and requirements. I had the necessary coverage on collision/comprehensive which would concern the GMAC because it protects THEIR PROPERTY.

However, I received a letter today stating we don't have the correct amount of insurance as specified in our contract. Everything they listed in their letter had to do with liability and personal injury! This has NOTHING to do with protecting the interest of THEIR PROPERTY!

My friend Joe nailed it on the head. GMAC WANTS you to be in violation of that contract so they can FORCE a policy on that vehicle!

I would venture to say they probably use their own insurance company (GMAC Insurance) when forcing a policy!

I'm all too familiar with FORCED auto insurance policies. Fifth Third Bank pulled that stunt on us some years back when they claimed that they had no proof we had our van insured. Regular declarations had been mailed to them FOR YEARS. They just didn't want to look very hard. It was pure hell trying to show Fifth Third that we had been covered all along, and to take back their new car payment book with DOUBLE the monetary payments. ($400 for the car payment and $400 for the insurance... PER MONTH!)

So BUYER BEWARE! Check your insurance policy against what GMAC demands.
