I can not beleave i have been scamed!

Hello i was sent a letter in the mail of congratulations!!! On behalf of mable wheel of fortune 21st centry that i had won a sweepstakes bonanza in the letter was 2 checks one was for 1580.00 and the other one was for 10,220.17 i had called the number located on the letter to find out what the catch was to this they said there was no catch they said the little check for 1580.00 was a good check all's i had to do was cash it call them back give them 1450.00 of it to receive the good check of 10,220.17 so i went to box and save to cash the check box and save call verifyed the check to make sure it was a good check is what i was told because of the amount of money it was! They spoke to someone and then cashed it i received a call from box and save about a week or so later stating the check had been sent back from the bank and the number they had called earlier to verify the check no one was any longer answering so i ask him what that ment for me they proceided to tell me because the cash was giving to me i was responceable to pay it back to box n save i then called my lawyer and ask him about this he told me to call box and save back and tell them the best i can do is make payment arangments i called box and save back and told them the best i can do is make payment arangments n the told me no it would have to go to court n a judge would have to deceide what will happen i can not beleave i have been scamed and facing posable charges against me i have never been in trouble before in my life! I still have the letter they sent me and the one check for 10,220.17 i had a friend who works for a law ferm to check this out for me and a friend at a bank they told me this is a scam and they have gottin 3 other people with this!!!
