Company claims that we owe $481.25 for unpaid bill. We never purshased a thing from them

Six months or so ago we were called by a credit collection agency saying we owed for past debt. We explained that we never purchased from that company. We didn't hear from them again until two days ago. Again they claim we owe them money and this time they have the middle initial correct because we had given them that information as proof that it was the wrong party they were in search of the when we received the earlier call. (Give them no information!) They also had our father's phone number but not ours. I called an insisted that we had purchased nothing from them that we should owe for. They could give no account information about the purchase. They said either pay or write a letter disputing the claim.
