Taxes messed up 2 years in a row

Went in in 2005 and gave everything needed to file taxes, well the lady laid our 1099's over to the side and didn't file them. We figured they were the professionals and everything would be fine. September we get a letter from the IRS that we owe money for taxes that Jackson hewitt did not file on our behalf almost 1300.00. We contact the company and are told that it is our responsibility to check their work to make sure it's right.

What happened to the fail safe system they are suppose to have that checks and double checks things. Well we are paying the IRS still. Of course in the mean time in 2006 before we found out about the first goof we had already filed taxes for 2006 with them again. They sent us a thing to have our taxes done for free so we thought ok theres no way they would make a mistake this time knowing they had already messed up once that they would be extra careful. Well while filing the 2007 taxes the preparer finds and points out that we will be getting another letter from the IRS because they had messed up 2006 taxes as well to the tune of 4400.00 federal and 2200.00 state.

I know you should look these things over but we pay good money to a company that is suppose to know what they are doing. Now of course they are unwilling to correct the situation in a reasonable matter. Especially considering this was 2 different employees that messed up and it clearly shows on our paperwork where they keyed in the wrong information.

This company is a rip off and should not be allowed to do taxes if they can't follow guidelines that are sitting right in fornt of them. I do plan on checking on a class action lawsuit that I heard was surently getting started in this area.
Next year we will use a CPA and play it safe.
