Deceptive and pressure sales tactics at ring store

A loophole in the way GE Money and Robbins Brothers handle their credit services is costing innocent consumers with fees. Whatever you do, avoid buying from Robbins Brothers or using their GE Money credit option. You'll regret it in the long run. Here's what happened to me.

I bought a ring at Robbins Brothers back in mid December. I used their credit services, which they offered me to use instead of paying upfront. They first told me that the credit services would be handled by Wells Fargo. While buying the ring, they never had me confirm my information with the credit service company. I didn't know who to contact or how to pay off my ring in the following weeks.

I called the store in early January and one person told me that my credit was being handled by GE Money. They gave me a phone number, which was worthless because I was bounced from one automated machine to another. I finally got a hold of a person who told me that they had sent my card to my address several weeks ago. I told the woman I never got it by mail. So they sent it again and received it by mid-January.

On the second week of February I was called by someone by GE telling me that I was behind on one payment. Late fee was $39. I told the customer rep person that I never received any bills over the mail. They told me that I was still responsible for that amount.

Here's what else I found out. I tried to find a phone number for GE executives and there are none listed on the web site. They do have a press contact: Richard Jones

But I doubt they'll be able to resolve any customer issues.

In conclusion, GE Money is making big bucks by not mailing out bills. That's fraud.
