Unifund out of control

Just this last year i started getting these papers about a summons for an old credit card i had when i was married. That was about 8 years ago. I tryed to make payments on the credit card and i was refused and all they wanted it payment in full. I think unifund was behind it then too! I was under the protection of a debt Consolidation They were told not to contact me but they did every chance they could. At that time that was my only chance i had to pay off that debt.

They stopped contacting me and i forgot about it. Then in 2007 i got this summons and i called the 888# and it was not a lawyer but unifund on the phone.

They said that i could make payments and the lady gave me a P. O box to send the payment to thats when the red flag went up! I talked to my Boyfriend about it and he gave me the link to usacomplaints.com site. I did not like what i read and i have not sent unifund a payment. I dont have a good feeling about them and i want to find someone to help with this. Its the only debt i owe now. All my other bills have been payed off. I dont want them coming after me. I have never been to court for anything and i dont want them to think they can bully me!
