They tried to offer me a credit card to pay off an old debt

I got a credit card offer in the mail it said that I was pre approved. As I read more the credit card was to pay off a balance from a car that was repossessed 4 years ago.

I never heard of this company before and told the guy on the phone that he was full of it and I wasn't born yesterday. I never sent in the application and now I have a report of $4925 past due on my credit report.
