Collector demanding money I already paid to another agency

I have been getting several calls the past few months from 800 numbers I never knew. When I would actually answer when I was home, nobody would be on the line or they would be very rude.

I had ATT in 1999, I paid that account off and switched to Worldcom. Which they went bankrupt and ATT bought them out. With Worldcom I had 6 months of credit on my account. So I never thought about it, I decided to switch to sprint and never heard anything ever again from ATT.

Well I finally spoke to someone from an agency called Tate and Kirlin and I paid this agency the money that I owed on 1/10/07. Now today I get a phone call from RPM collections telling me I owe the same amount of money to ATT. I told them I already paid this through Tate and Kirlin. They start treating me like I am lying, I gave her all the information of my transaction with my CC. She tells me I need to call them and see what is going on cause they are being told it is still owed.

Now I went back and forth all day with these people at RMP. They are trying to scam me out of more money that I already paid. They have this on my credit report and I have paid this amount owed.

The last male I spoke too at RMP basically treated me like a criminal and told me I need to do all this and this is a different account. Yes, he is telling me I have two accounts for the same amount of money owed on both?

These people will not give you any answers to their screwups.
