They would not let us sell our home to avoid forcloser because of a lean but they sold it and we have to pay the lean

My husband and i lost our jobs in 2005 we contacted ocwen right away and tried to work out a reduced payment plan they told us all or nothing. We wanted to sell our home to avoid forcloser but they told us we couldnt because of a lean we had on the house. They sold our house and we still have to pay off the lean. I just dont understand how they could get a clear title.
