Lost 500 dollars!

I talked with Joe from quicken loans about 3 weeks ago
(he called me from a 1st time buyers thing I did on the internet) He told me he could let me know if I was approved or not in less than an hour. He called me back in 30 minutes and told me I was approved and that I had to give a 500.00 good faith deposit to do my appraisal and title search.

Every thing started off good and we ahd a closing date set and everything was turned in all we were waitng on was to close.

4 days before we were suppose to close he calls me and says they are not happy with my work history and are going to deny the loan, I asked him about the 500 dollars and he said that they already spent that on the appraisal and title work and would not give it back.

My home owners insurance worker called the attorneys office I was suppose to be getting my title search done through and they had never heard anything about my title

That deposit was if I backed out but they are the ones who backed out and at 4 days before closing!!!

Always have something in writing before you give someone your money
