Capital First Benefit unauthorized withdrawals no credit card bank assistance reimbursement

Originally contacted by phone about 8/16/02, was asked for and gave info I should not have given over phone. Was told I would receive a credit card by approx. 8/22, never rec'd same, made several calls, extreme difficulty in getting thru, did manage to get address and information that phone callers were in same building with company, but not related?

Was asked to send letter to company, attn. Refund department to get my money back, but was told my original $29.95, already withdrawn, would not be refunded. Sometime between 8/22 and 9/13, I rec'd a phone card in the mail which stated I must call to cancel the card, which would mean a further withdrawal monthly of $59.95. I could not get thru to any numbers to cancel the card. I went to my bank on 9/13 and signed an ACH stop payment/revoke affidavit, in the company name of Capital

First Benefits, in the debit amount of ANY AMOUNT, and my bank has advised me today, 9/20, that I will be receiving back the approx. $160 CFS withdrew. This is refunded thru the bank's insurance program.

I will now attempt to get my $29.95 withdrawn on 8/12 refunded by contacting CFS directly. Also, I have emailed the FBI Office in Miami, Fl with all my information. I believe this effort will be helpful also, as we all want to make sure that this scam was not perpetrated to raise money for terrorists.

To date, I have never rec'd the original card. I have no idea if a card exists, is in some other person's hand or was never printed to begin with. Thank you. PS — this company uses several names, including Hartford Auto Club or the like. Wonder if Hartford Ins.Co. Knows about this?
