Credit charges

I made all payments on time. Had a credit of $40.00 appx. They applied interest which made balance over limit and charged me another $39.00 because interest put balance over limit.[less than $10.00 over] The interest was applied between payments. Then I made payment of $600.00 after 3 days it still doesn't reflect on my cc balance. I guess I am paying interest to Providian for holding my money paid directly at bank from my checking acct. This $600.00 is in their [Providian] acct. I cannot use it they are using it. I will be leaving Providian soon.
