Threatened to sue, I paid and now another agency is trying to collect on same debt

The firm contacted me about a year and a half ago. They said they were going to get a judgement against me if I didnt pay in full on an old Sprint account. Well, I paid and it is still on my credit report and now another agency is trying to contact me for payment in full.
