Fifth Third Bank
Making sure I can't get out of the hole. Ripoff

Business & Finance

Fifth Third Bank has made it impossible for me to get out of the hole. They have a 33$ charge for an overdraft designed to keep you handing your paycheck to them. Forget paying your bills. Pay them. The last time I checked they had a quarterly earning of One Billion Dollars.

I have paid them over 5,000$ in overdraft fees in the past six years. Most recently I asked them to remove a fee because this would cause a domino effect. The bank said to bad, you should not over draw your account.

The thing is Is that I put 2 paychecs in the bank on a Friday and paid my mortgage payment the same day and should have had over 400$ left in my account. Well my account mysteriously was overdrawn the next day. But the funny thing is that there was 300$ in the account. So I tried to get the overcharges returned and they said it was my fault that the funds were not available the same day or even the next day.

Ok. I guess that the teller should have told me I didn't have sufficient funds to make my Mortgage payment. But this is not the way it is. They are just happy to put the customer in the hole and sit back and collect my familys hard earned money for bogus practices.

I have at least six more of these same kind of incidences but this is the most recent.
