Violated privacy rights over and over Ripoff

5 years ago I got a signature loan with Household Finance. It was in my name only - and I made it very clear that I was the only one that they should discuss my loan with.

For 2 or 3 years they would call my home phone (even though I asked them to use my business number only in conjunction with this loan).

Last year, the day my father passed away, I was out dealing with his arrangements when they called my home phone and reached my husband. When he asked what it was in regard to, they told him that they wanted to offer me a better rate on my loan. He was not aware that I had a loan and indicated that he was not aware of a loan. The representative on the phone proceeded to tell him when the loan was opened, how much was owed and the month that I had paid it late.

Needless to say, I was furious, and called to register a complaint. No one in the company seemed to feel that they had violated privacy rights at all and could not understand why I would not have told my husband about the loan.

I told them that I intended to report this to the correct agency and requested once again that they purge my home number from their records and only use my business phone. I sent this to them in writing and by email. Every 2 or 3 months, I still get a phone call on that line. They seem to think they are above the law.
