Payday loans threatening to take me to court or garnish wages when I can not contact them to pay the loan back. Ripoff

I had some hard times and I decided to use the payday loan services for a brief short term loan. I can not seem to contact them at all, even though they are able to leave messages on my cell/work phone everyday. I do not have a physical desk location so I am unable to answer when they call.

I closed my bank account so that they could no longer debit my account. I have made more than 8 payments, and I should not be charged 4 times the amount of my loan. I thought that maybe that would save me, but now they are threatening to call my boss, have my wages garnished, or take me to court. How can I protect myself? I will pay them (even though they have already been paid more than enough) whatever to leave my job out of this.

Can they really garnish my wages? Can they really take me to court? How can I stop them? I thought about having a debt consolidation company call them?
