In July of due to dental/medical problems, we were unable to pay our mortgage payment on time. I contacted Homecomings and they were kind enough to work out a repayment plan with me.in essence, my current payment of $1229. Would go up to $1500 and I *must* pay it on the 15th of every month.
I faithfully paid EXACTLY as promised, even sometimes a day or two early. I thought all was good and have been sure to make my payments on time ever since.
Imagine my TOTAL SHOCK, when we were looking to purchase a new home that would accomodate my aging mother, and the mortgage broker tells me "My apologies, but there is nothing I can do for you with all these late payments on your mortgage." My mouth must have dropped to the floor. I was never told that the repayment plan would make my payments show as 30 days late!!! I understand the July payment being shown delinquent, but I had NO idea AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER & DECEMBER would as well. I have called and called Homecomings, faxed them, reported them to the BBB - no one will help me.
My next step is a lawyer: (
