WARNING, save all your evidence, they are back at it on a 2nd bogus collection here so don't assume they are done with you! Consumers deserve reimbursement of mailing costs!

In the beginning of I dealt with AFNI collecting on a false account. They eventually sent a notice that all collection efforts would cease and the account was closed. Luckily, I kept all the documentation. Then, in June of I winced when I saw a familiar looking envelope in the mail. You guessed it, another Afni collection notice for Verizon.

A review of the previous records shows it is for a different phone number I never had. Now back to the grind of writing a letter to request validation of the debt. If it goes as it did last time, they will probably send back a letter saying they can't validate, but request more of my personal information.

I am sick and tired of this company harassing me and all the other people on this site and many others. We have to spend our time preparing these letters and wasting our money to send them certified with a return receipt request ($5.21 this time, price has gone up unfortunately) all to get this lowlife company out of our lives.

We deserve to be reimbursed for these expenses because it is more and more obvious this company does not believe in doing any due dilligence before attempting to collect on these accounts. I have the sneaking suspicion that their account numbers have a two-digit suffix (XXXXXXX-XX) because they send multiple bills per account, such that on my "account" ending in 02, I am probably the second "John Smith" they are trying to extort. Any ex-AFNI employees want to verify or dispute that?

Anyway, keep everything they send you because it is possible you will hear from them again.
