Regions
Ripping off vauled customers by using OVERDRAFT FEES

Business & Finance

I incurred some overdraft charges to my account. I made the deposit on Friday, 6/22/07 after 2pm. I made charges to that account on Friday as well but the charges hit my account on Friday unlike the deposit. I went my home branch at 1889 S Third St., Memphis, ten 38109, phone number (901) 775-8401. I spoke with a Mr. Raphael Hammond, as well as a Mr. Paul (last name unknown). Mr. Hammond was nice and considerate and had referred me to a Ms. Jackie (last name unknown) a manager. She never spoke with me; she never tried to speak with me. She looked at me but she passed me to Mr. Paul. He was not thorough in his account of why it happened. I explained to him that on the week before. I had made a deposit on 06/15/07 after 4pm and made purchases that day and the day after but never receive any overdraft charges.in addition, if I thought that the charges were not going to be covered I would have kept the money on my person. That was my daughter's child support money. I incurred $93 in OD fees for less than $50 of charges.

I am trying to be nice and cordial about this situation. This is the only bank that I know of that does not post cash deposit on that day. It seems as if the bank is scheming and manipulating people to take money from overdraft charges to their account. My deposit was for $145. I incurred more than half that amount in overdraft fees. I would like to have these fees reversed. When I began banking with Regions, I thought it was a good bank. Now, I believe that it is big rip off. Before you all joined with AmSouth, it was much better. The merger is causing you all to lose valued customers.in addition, this particular branch is very slow. It is the only bank that I know that only has two persons working the front line and one in drive thru on the busiest day of the week (Friday). I was at the drive thru window before 2pm but the teller told me that it would be a few minutes before she could get to me by the time she made it to me it was after 2pm (2:07 pm exactly) If she had not been slow to help me my deposit would have been in before 2pm. Since they were not eager to help me or rectify the situation would some one in corporate help me.

I do not like to sound racist or discriminatory towards anyone. I am an African American woman. This bank is predominantly run by African American who do seem to care about the people.
