Is looking for a relative - What should I do?

I have received two automated messages on my answering machine from Assest Acceptance. The message says they are trying to contact "John Doe" (name changed to protect the innocent) about a personal business matter.
The person they are trying to contact is a relative, who probably listed my phone number as a contact many years ago. The person they are trying to contact has since divorced and remarried (twice actually!), so her last name is now different. I have called the phone number and told them that the person they are looking for doesn't live at this number, and I don't know them. I also told them not to call again.
Should I stop now, and have no further contact with them? Should I just ignore them and delete their phone messages? I have never co-signed any credit documents for this person.
I have lived at the same address and had the same phone number for over 20 years, so they could easily find me! Can they take legal action against me to find her?
I would greatly appreciate some good advice.
