Edp
Prepaid Mastercard Class Action Lawsuit based on deceptive advertising

Business & Finance

Like many people, I had $159.95 taken from my account when I thought I was only applying for a credit card. Yet, according to my bank, EDP has not technically broken the law because I voluntarily provided them with my info (I'm not sure if this is true for everyone who was victimized by EDP).

So I'm thinking that the weasels who run this company are operating in a kind of legal gray area. They are obviously misleading people -who would pay that much for a secured (i.E. Prepaid) debit card? The payment information is well hidden. They also fix it that you can't get a refund after 3 days -after they've already taken your money. Pretty slick and possibly even legal.

Still, I think this qualifies as deceptive advertising and since so many have fallen into their trap, a class action lawsuit would be a good idea. If any attorneys are interested, I'd be glad to help organize it. Otherwise, we could probably file a law suit without a lawyer (I doubt if most of us are in a position to pay legal fees up front!). If anyone is interested or has any suggestions, please respond!
