Here's a new scammer to steer clear of - "First America Mastercard". Some guy called up and said his employee had turned me down for a credit card a while ago (funny, I don't remember it...), but he was unhappy about the decision that employee had made and, in his great wisdom, he decided to approve my credit (ha ha). He said I shouldn't have been turned down. (Actually I never applied.) Then he went through the same old spiel of "Do you have at least $800 in income? Do you still live at this address? Et cetera, et cetera".
I immediately asked him to give me the company's Web site and he said FirstMastercard.com. It doesn't exist - the domain isn't even registered yet. I told him it doesn't exist and he said "Let me go and check the site's name", then a minute later the phone hung up for no reason. I wonder why? Ha ha
Has anyone out there heard anything about this First America Mastercard? — First America Mastercard scam?
