Business & Finance

Last year, I had a number of bills and considered consolodating them into one loan. I needn't to, but thought it would be convenient to just write one check. When I talked to one of their reps, he told me how great it would be how it'd lower my monthly bills and save me alot of money. So I went ahead and did it. I believed him and didn't think much of it when he had me sign the papers. Only after everything was finalized did I find out that the interest reate was 24.9%!!! They also added an insurance thing (extra $300 or so charge) that I didn't need; and it took six months of constant phone calls, letters and faxes to have it removed. All the while, interest was building. I recently got another loan from a credit union just to pay this loan off. When I went to pay it off, I found out that they have added over $1,100 in interst and "other charges." So instead of a couple hundred dollars left on the balance, I have almost $2000 as the balance. When I called to express my dissatisfaction, they blamed me somehow. I've never felt so ripped off. Now as a result, my financial situation is much worse than when I started. What they told me would be convenience is killing me financially.
