Scam artists Ripoff

I have had my rate riased from 9.9 after 8 years to 20.375% for one late payment. I have tried to get it lowered and they will not. I cannot afford to keep paying this card at its current balance an dinterest rate, i want to settle but they will not let me. I can do it through a third party, why not on my own? I have filed complaints with the FTC and the BBB and my state attorney general. I want out of this debt, which is what they made it. I cannor affod to pay them what i owe b/c of the interest rate they raised it to. Can someone expalin why they will accept an offer from a third party to take 50% or more of the balance as a settlement, but they will not take it from me? I hoppe there is a suit. After 8 yeard, never late once until 2 months ago and they have screwed me. They will not lower the rate or settle with me. Somehting has to be done, i cannot be the only one in this situation
