Multiple phone calls per day leaving no message ripoff Internet

I get one to six phone calls per day to an unlisted telephone number that is on the National "do not call" list. I understand this company is a national debt collection agency; but I have NO past due debts nor have I had any for many years. They leave no messages, just call constantly. I see many complaints listed on this site and many others, and have noticed they've been filed against by several Atty Generals of various states, which make it more curious when I also found they are one of three "official" debt collectors for the City of Los Angeles (I live in Texas), but they appear to have branches nationwide.

Apparently, no one can stop their harassment of anyone they call (owe money or not).in my case, the harassment is simple the multiple phone calls. I did answer several times, but received a voice saying for me to "hold" and someone would talk to me shortly. I know better than to "hold" for this, but sure would like them to stop the phone calls.

I HAVE reported them for calling a "do not call" number, but, of course, all they have to do is claim they have a "business relationship" with me - which is the legal loophole for calling.

By the way, the number they call is simple a "distinctive ring" number I added about 4-5 months ago, and I have never given the number out to anyone.in fact, I had to look the number up on my bill just to report it, so I have no idea how they even got it. If I owed anyone, they would be calling my main, LISTED phone number that shows on my credit report.
