Overdue phone bill, that have no idea what it is about

I am acting in place of my son, who is currently serving his country in Iraq for a 2nd tour, As I have power of attorney, I am able to pursue this matter. Before he deployed, he got a copy of his credit report and this showed up as an overdue bill.

He disputed with the credit bureau, then came the bill saying that there in an unpaid balance back jan. I explained to the person there that he was deployed from 2002 to mid 2004 and did not live in Illinois during 2001 and has not lived in Illinois since.

I asked for sometype of billing to find out what these charges are for, was refused because I would not committ to paying the charges of 162.02. I asked that they send me sometype of invoice or something, was advised that I should just pay it and be done with it.

I said I am not going to pay anything until I see some backup. I asked to speak to a supervisior and was advise that they would tell me that samething.

I don't believe I should have to pay just because they tell I should just do it without any backup

The people there are very rude, and all they want is their money and heck with you or your wishes, I asked the guy would you just pay someone something because they tell you to, I don't thing so.
