Compass Bank
Compass Bank sucks!

My boyfriend and I went to the Barton Creek mall to open a bank account at Compass Bank on 9-9-06 since I had called and they had told me all we needed was $25 to open the account.

He needed to have his SSI check direct deposited in case he was incapacitated and wouldn't be able to sign and deposit his check.

The female who opened our account was nice and the process went smoothly, but when we went next Tuesday to the location on 6th and Guadalupe to withdraw $20 a short white male employee in his early 20's snickered at us.

I turned around and looked at him a couple of times and he finally came out of his office and asked if we needed anything with a sneer in his voice and a glint in his eye.

When I went to the teller desk to give him the withdrawal slip I had some questions about it and he just said "Put your signature there m'am" rudely. He didn't even give me a slip stating how much I withdrew from our account.

When the first of October came around we found out that my boyfriend's account had been frozen because they couldn't verify his address. He had to come into the location at the Barton Creek mall and give them, yet again, copies of his ID and this time, proof of address.

The lady who opened the account was nice enough to give him his money right then and there. The tellers at the location on 6th and Guadalupe wouldn't do that.

If he'd been sick or unconscious and in the hospital I wouldn't have been able to pay the rent and I'm currently pregnant and can't work right now because it is a high risk pregnancy!

They should have gotten in contact with us a lot earlier about the verification of address, long before the first of October!

I hope the people at Compass Bank get what they deserve in the end.
