Universal Fidelity
Harrassing, non-negotiating ripoff

Business & Finance

They are trying to collect an unpaid account from a department store of $500. Unfortunately this account went to collections in the first place because of a series of extremely unfortunate circumstances from Katrina and cancer.

I have tried to reason with these people telling them I will try to pay what I can, but they insist it has to be paid all at once. If I had the money I would pay it. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any laws or anything that will help me. If a company has written off the account is there any such thing as paying them instead of a collection agency?

This is a first for me so I have no clue as to what to do, but I certainly would like the threatening calls to end because with my cancer bills, etc. I just can't take the harrassment. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all in advance from Mississippi.
