Platinum B Services

Business & Finance

I took out a payday loan with Platinum B Services in May. I got to looking over my bank statement & there were charges being taking out of my account from a SJM marketing, I called the bank to ask if they had a number that I could call to find out who they were & they told me they didn't. So I did a stop payment, thinking that they would try to contact me personally, because I had no idea who SJM Marketing was.

In a bout a week I got a call from a Shawn Braxton from Pre Litigation at work, telling me to write my case number down & make sure I have a bailbondsman & an attorney, because I was getting sued by Platinum B Services. I was in shock, I asked him if he had a number I could call to talk to them, because I did not know what was going on, I did NOT know that SJM Marketing was the same as Platinum B Services.

Anyway he said that they did not want to talk they just wanted to put me in jail. I asked if I could pay off the loan, he put me on hold, he said to call them & ask. He came back on the line & said they would take a pay off of $700 to be sent by Moneygram. He gave me 2 hours to come up with the money & if I didn't some one was going to detain me. So I borrowed the money, paid it off & checked the website for Platinum B Services realized it was SJM Marketing made a copy of my loan agreement. My loan I got in 5 for $250 BUT I had to pay them $700 or go to jail. Does this add up at all? Thanks for your time
