Ripoff deceptive company

I bought a computer Sept from a company who offered a same-as-cash until Jan. 2004. As the company I purchased from lived up to their bargain, I won't mention them, but they are no longer offering GE cards. I figured it was a good deal, as I had every intention of paying it off well before the time limit. I was laid-off two weeks after my purchase, but thought I was covered since my first statement showed I was being charged just over $10/month for insurance. I contacted GE and told them I had been laid-off, was receiving unemployment, etc. Etc. Etc. To make a long and sad story short... It is now 7 months later and not only has the insurance not kicked in... Though I have sent them, called them, and talked to their credit agency weekly regarding my unemployment. But I have been getting charged the $10 insurance fee... $29/mo late fee. And this month. $233.51 in finance fees. I understand, as a consumer, I am responsible for making my monthly payments until the insurance kicks in. I made over the minimum payments for 5 months. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks for the insurance to kick in. I have received those wonderful fraud statements from them. They issued the card in the wrong last name, though I never cared since the company I had the card for was no longer doing business with them. Now the refuse to change the name on my acccount. And of course, have no record of my ever talking to them regarding my unemployment, or receiving any statements from the unemployment office. To sum it all up... They took someone with great credit and screwed them. They have added close to $400 onto my account due to their screwed up "customer service" and computers. AND I receive weekly calls wanting my credit card number for the monthly payment, from ignorant and angry 'service' reps, just to go through the story again. KameronFederal Heights, Colorado
