Ken Hughes rold debt buyoffs well past SOLs

Ughh, I am frustrated, upset and angry. I received a pre-recorded message this morning on my home phone asking that I call Ken Hughes immediately. "This is not a sales or solicitation call. Please call us ay 888 249 1037". I had bad credit as a student over 9 years ago in another state and I've worked hard to clean it up and pay off all of my bills except one old utility debt from Pennsylvania Electric Company as it is well past the SOL.

Well, I returned the call and they referred to me by my maiden name and asked about said utility bill. They read the last 4 digits of my SS which were off by one number and I was dumb enough to correct the rep. And gave her my real SS number!

So dumb, I wish I had read this before I called them back. Now, thanks to the other post, I know what I am up against and I'll be sure to only write to them. I guess I can expect to get some correspondence from these bottom feeders real soon. I guess my question is: how can they do this when they are so far past the SOLs?
