I have been getting calls from some Junk Debt Buyers. I believe they are from Merchants Credit or Asset Acceptance but I have been unable to identify the companies. I have tried reverse telephone look up with no results. I have sent both Merchants Credit Guide and Asset Acceptance certified C&D letters.
The previous debts I had dated back to March, 1998 and here in Texas the SOL is 4 years. All 3 of my January credit reports were clear of any derogetory items with the exception of hard credit pulls from Asset Acceptance and Merchants Credit Guide on my Transunion report.
I have a great reluctance to call back any of the telephone numbers listed above as I know they use call-ID and I have been advised that once called they consider it "contact" and go onto the next step in their programs (whatever that may be).
I am a the point of going to a lawyer but I would like to avoid that expense. Any advice or help with identifying the company names that go with the above telephone numbers would be greatly appreciated so I may send more C&D letters.
