I was referred to Paradigm Acceptance through Gateway's website. I too was taken in and agreed to their terms over the phone. It sounded like an okay deal at first, but I should have checked further.

Ususally I am the smart online shopper. I almost always verify companies and their practices before doing business with them. This time I though, if Gateway is so successful, surely they will only do business with reputable companies - NOT!

As other users on this site, I too quickly found out I would be paying almost 3 times the value of the computer through Paradigm. I had authorized an initial payment of over $100.

BUT GOOD NEWS - Thankfully, because of usacomplaints.com, I owe nothing. After my phone call with paradigm, my gut told me to check it out. A quick Google search revealed this site, and user reports. I quickly called Paradigm back (within an hour of my initial call), and was given their customer service number.

I called customer service and spoke to a surprisingly friendly female. I explained to her the value difference, and mentioned this site. She gladly cancelled my account. I double checked to ensure nothing, not even the down payment would be taken from my checking account. She assured me nothing would be withdrawn.

I will certainly be monitoring my checking account, and if anything does come out from Paradigm, I will surely update and let everyone know!
