Envelopes for money too good to be true ripoff

Business & Finance

I come across this ad in the classifieds that advertises an opportunity to receive $4 for every envelope that I will stuff. The ad leaves only a website.

The website alludes to this financially rewarding opportunity to stuff envelopes with materials that will be sent to your home. There are no potage fees or advertising requirements. You simply sit back and stuff envelopes at your own leisure, send them off and reap the rewards.

However, they want you to send in $30 to prove your level of commitment, because they can not trust everyone with the expensive materials that will be sent to you.

It was too good to be true. About ten days later I receive an envelope filled with pieces of paper! These are the expensive materials? The letter informs me that I have to make advertisements for opportunities to receive grant money.

I place signs on billboards that ask people to send in $4 with a SASE to my address. I then stuff that envelope with another piece of paper providing information on a great deal for a book about grants.

I can not believe the shadiness of this envelope scam. I had my doubts when I sent in my $30 and it is unfortunate now that I have become prey to their tactics. I do want my money back but in the long run I want to stand up to these scandalous people and let them know it has to stop!
