Strange and Bizarre Accounting Practices

I would like to add my voice to the uproar over Compass Bank. I long ago stopped banking there for many reasons.

There are many stories to tell. One time I deposited a State Refund Check to my account for 3,000 at an ATM. The next day I received a call telling me it would not be in my account for THREE days... I said "you are kidding". It is a State check in my name I might add. The person on the phone responded by saying I had not been a customer long enough to trust it was a good check. What??? Then he asked if I wanted to come pick it up. I said why on earth would I want to do that. He then says in case you want to take it to another bank to cash. Is this place real?

Also I had direct deposit and like clock work it would be there on the 3rd... Never earlier. Since I have changed banks it regularly appears on my account on the 29th or earlier. Which begs the question... Why did Compass never post it until the 3rd?

In addition there was always AN odd TIMING of the posting of deposits and credits. (and it was always in the banks favor.) Frankly it felt strange and even sinister. Stay away from this bank at all costs. Not to mention the customer service IS THE WORST.
