Advantage America
Attempted to rip me off, threatened to take my social security ripoff

Business & Finance

A woman with very broken English called me to inform me that I was getting a grant in the amount of $12,500 FREE OF CHARGE. She claimed that she was a member of the United States Government.

She told me I would be getting a package the next evening from Fed Express, with no money owed AT THAT TIME. She then started to tell me about health benefits I would buy and the 49.99 fee. (red flags going up)

Being a computer security student I quickly got onto the web and found this site. Hehe, nailed! I informed her that I was an internet security major and I will be spending my professional career stopping fraud. I asked her her name, and a contact number. I also said that if I confirmed this as a fraud I would be reporting her to the authorities.

This is when she started getting mad, said again that she was from the government and that if I took any action she would have my Social Security taken AWAY from me!

She refused to give me her name, number, or any contact info. She then insisted that we couldn't both talk so I told her to shut up and listen to me for a moment. SHe claimed she could not understand anythoing I was saying and would talk to me no longer.

I asked what government agency she worked for and she said it was Advantage America, and their agents are responsible for distributing educational grants (this is NOT the agency responsible for distributing gov grants!)

In the end she threatened my Social Security again and said she could not talk to me any longer, and hung up. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN.
