Dude! Your Getting Screwed By Dell Financial ripoff

3 years ago I bought a Dell Laptop computer for approx. $3100. I got 60 days no payment no interst financing. I sent dell $3100 after the 60 days expired. I then received a statement from dell stating that I owed $0. I continued to receive these statements for 3 years. I stopped opening them 2 years ago.

Last week I began getting calls from people I could hardly hear saying I owed Dell money and my payments were late. Naturally I assumed someone had used my dell credit without my knowledge. Little did I know the only crime committed was by Dell itself. It seems that somewhere in the fine print of the contract it states that if I send a payment greater than the minimum due the additional amount is spread across future payments.

So instead of applying my 3100 to the principal and interest, Dell spread this money into payments over 3 years. They now tell me I owe $2000 more on the computer. They have had $3100 of my money for 3 years. I have no problem paying interest due on any amount I still owed at the time I sent $3100. But to send me INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE statements showing no payment due and nowhere showing that they had spread my money out over 3 years is just slimey.

When I tried to resolve this with the people at Dell they told me I should have read my contract and it was too bad. They "Understood" that I meant to pay off the computer, but that was not how it worked.

Please! Someone file a class action against these weasels. I realize they have the contract on their side. But the way they send out statements with 0 due without clearly showing what they are doing with your money has to be illegal.
