Providian
Ripoff, Rude, Dishonest, Fraudulent Billing

Business & Finance

My husband and I applied for the Providian Credit Card on the basis of a special offer of 0% on Balance Transfers for 1 year. We would not have had done a balance transfer unless this was the case.

We received our card and did the balance transfer and then 1 month later we received the statement from the company.in the statement it said that we were being charged 9.49% for the balance transfer.

My husband called and talked to them about it and they then said that they never sent us the 0% balance transfer offer and that we were liars. They wouldn't fix the situation. So my husband told them that they lied and we wouldn't have transfered otherwise since the APR we were currently paying at the time was only 9%. Why would we go to a higher percentage rate.

They guys name that we talked to was Bobby, extension 1055. I advise anyone who wants to go through providian does not use them. They are rude and will back out of any and all promotional offers that they send to you.
