Scam! They offered us a credit card to help us with our credit. They took our money, but we never recieved a card this was over 4 months ago

This so-called company contacted My husband and I saying that we were denied credit from another company and they were willing to help us improve our credit. They spoke to my husband. He (my husband) is really skeptical. He said they sounded legit. So he talked me into it. Next thing they took $249.00 without delay. We never heard or recieved anything after that. That was 4 months ago. We tried calling them always getting an answering machine. We are out $249.00, that could have went to our childrens welfare.
