Ripoff trying to get away from them

My mother-in-law refinanced her home in CONNECTICUT last year. Ocwen bought the loan and so she started making payments to them. She became ill and my husband and I, and our children moved in to help out.

By this time she was 3-4 months behind, owing about $8000 in fees. I spoke to a lady at Ocwen, who said we had about 2 weeks to come up with the money or we could enter a forebearance agreement. I had about $6000 coming from England and was just waiting for it to clear in the bank, so I managed to scrape the money owed together and it went through fine.

At the time, I told the lady that because we had pretty much cleared out our account to pay this, that May's payment would be a little late, but we should have it cleared by June... July at the latest and we would be square. She also said that I couldn't have a reciept stating that we had paid it, as they "didn't send them out to people and you can check online."

Now, about a week later we recieved another bill from Ocwen saying we owed ANOTHER $3000, this was round about the beginning of May, for May's payment, $1200 in legal fees and June's payment. So I, of course, got STRAIGHT on the phone and spoke to a lady saying that I had believed the legal fees to be part of the $8000 we had already paid them. She said, that according to her computer we only owed May and June NOTHING in legal fees. I asked her if she was positive, she said Yes.

Now we are in the process of scraping together EVERY penny we can to pay off May and Junes payment and then we will be paid up to date with them.

After reading through this site, we obviously got very worried and have since been trying to get with another company to get away from Ocwen. We have found someone to help us, but when he phoned Ocwen to find out the details, they said we are 3 months behind!!! HOW THE HECK ARE WE 3 MONTHS BEHIND??? May yes... But guess what??? ITS NOT EVEN JUNE YET!!!

I am wondering if we are eligible to put our names forward in the CONNECTICUT legal suit? If we don't get away from them soon, I am terrified we will lose this house! Or are we not in enough trouble yet? Forgive me, if that came out wrong, I meant that our story is not as bad as some, so we have been lucky so far.
