Initial high credit limit rip-off lies

I received a letter from the company above stating that i have an initial credti line of $5,000. Being eager for my first credit card, i applied. My cousin reviewed the letter saying that something wasn't right. Usually a credit card application had a visa or a mastercard logo on it. She couldn't find any sufficient information that made the document look sincere. She told me that she would check on the internet to see how real the credit company was. She called me immediately to inform me that it was a ripoff. She found additional information stating that they charge you a $99 activation fee and an $8/month interest.
I am really upset. All i wanted was to start establishing credit for myself. I did not intend to create a problem for mylself.
