I went on the internet to check my credit. I went to Experian.com, from there it jumps around and all the supposedly free credit reports requires a credit card. I started to fill out the information and then stopped.
I did not complete any of the forms and yet I was billed $9.95 from consumerinfo.com. Where did this company come from. I was on Experian? I am willing to eat this $9.95 as a learning experience. These people are advertisin FREE credit reports when they are not. Something needs to be done about this. It was my understanding that Experian and two others are supposed to be free. Am I mistaken? No matter who you go to, they all require a fee. I could not find one that was actually free.
