Credit Repair or Not They lie so they can get around the LAW!

I called L.L. To check them out... The operator said, "We are a law firm that disputes negative info on credit reports." She would not admit that they are a credit repair organization. On the internet, they claim to do "credit repair". As a credit repair organization, they are subject to the "Credit Repair Organizations Act" which states, a credit repair org. Cannot charge up-front fees for any work agreed upon until that work is completed. They DO charge an up-front fee and call it a "retainer" even though you are not hiring a lawyer in the usual sense. They claim this money goes toward setting up your file. That's known as "WORK" and falls under the afore - mentioned law. These guys take advantage of people who are experiencing hard times due to erroneous information on their reports! I say, call and report them to the FTC and put them out of business!!!
