Primerica
Ripoff $199 taken from bank account with out any prior authorization

Business & Finance

Two months ago I was approached by Brandon Moore, a representative for Primerica, at my current job Burger King. He came in and requested to speak to the manager. He invited me to come to a group interview to learn about an employment opportunity where I could make 50-100k. So, seeing how I now make less than 20k annually that sounded really great. There he explained it may take more than one interview to set me up for the position (which was a managers position at a local office they would be setting up in my local area soon.) So as time went on I continued to meet him at the local StarBucks and discussed this new job opportunity, however, I still do not know exactly what the job would have consisited of, whenever I would ask he would say, its an opportunity to help others to get out of financial debt. So I concluded it was a sales position.

A few weeks ago he had me fill out some paperwork that required my bank account number. I was then extremely confused what was happening. He explained I would need to be licensed for $199 before I could begin, but the company would pay for that. So why did they need my account number. Because there would be later fees that I would need paid before I could start. When I questioned those, he said he would let me know before the fees would be removed from my account so I could make necessary deposits. Still in confusion, I agreed. Please allow me to state, I am only 18yrs old, I have never been in this type of situation before. I have never been in a position to be duped.

On 3/22/05 I went to use my debit card and noticed I only had 14.00 in my account and I had just deposited a 210.00 check, so I was very confused. The following day I went in and spoke with a customer service rep at my bank, BB&T. She said a company (PRIMERICA CLIENT SERVICES) removed 199.00 on 3/22/05 before the other transactions were made. So I overdrafted my account twice, two 32.00 fees were charged for the gas and food charges b/c the money Primerica had taken from my account without notifying me first resulted in my balance only at 14.00. Brandon Moore will no longer answer his cell phone, but fortunately I have spoked with a customer service rep from the main office in GA and they said after a written request had been sent they will refund the money within 5-10bus days and the overdraft fees will be reviewed by the legal dept and they may be refunded. I will update on my situation whenever something new occurs. Advice for anyone in the state of Kentuky, stay away from Primerica and Brandon Moore, their representative.
