Ripoff Stole Extra Fees For Payoff & Still Harrassing After Loan Closure. Now Threatening Foreclosure

My dad died in August of so having funeral expenses I called Ameriquest for a payment arrangement requesting a couple of extra weeks to make a payment. They told me no and immediately started talking about refinancing my current loan which incidently had been sold to them by another lender.

Without permission they ran me and my wifes credit and at that point I did some investigating on Ameriquest and discovered all of the complaints against them on various websites including this one. At that point I decided to refinance out of this current loan and upon receiving the payoff demand from the new lender, the calls started.

Twice a day trying to get us to rethink our decision, and reminding us of the large prepayment penalty we would incur. When it was clear that we were not interested in staying with Ameriquest, they ran our credit again without our permission in hopes of sabotaging our new loan which was in escrow.

When that didn't work, They tried to get us to pay them an extra payment even though the payoff amount was almost triple the amount it should have been. When we refused, they threatened to add a 30 day late to our credit report, and upon our new loan closing and Ameriquest receiving their wired funds,
they denied receiving the wired transaction even though I am in receipt of the actual wire transaction numbers and confirmations.

It has been 7 days since my new loan closed, and I am still receiving phone calls at a rate of 3 a day, and this evening I received a notice of intent to foreclose my home, which now has a new loan and lender holding the note.

The entire experience was an emotional nightmare to say the least. Ameriquest is the worst type of bottom feeder/predatory lender and, for anyone considering them because they feel no options for refinancing, think again.in my heartfelt opinion, bankruptcy is a preferable alternative.

Given the systemic problems I had throughout my relationship with the company, it is my heartfelt opinion that you will likely regret the day you had anything to do with Ameriquest if you respond to their solicitations.

Needless to say, Ameriquest needs to pay for all of the hardships they are causing to good people, and I welcome any opportunity to participate in a suit against them.
