Ripped Me Off too! Ripoff!

Charter One Bank ripped me off BIG TIME. It is so ridiculous how many of these bank employees have responded by saying people are "irresponsible". I was a VERY responsible Charter One customer, and I still got burned to the tune of $1000.00.

My direct deposit check somehow got deposited twice (keep in mind, I did not know this at the time). I also was supposed to be getting my Christmas bonus around the same time. I looked up my account balance, saw how much money was there, and went Christmas shopping. Over two weeks later, Charter One figures out the oopsie, and takes the money back, but still charges me $30.00 for every over draft. Remember, I am out Christmas shopping, shopping on line, filed up with gas, got groceries, etc.

So each and every 10$, 20$, 200$ charge on my bank card had another $30 tacked onto it. This was for their mistake. Then, When I tried to clear things up with them, I immediately only hadf 1/2 of my check deposited, was making up the overdrafts, when I got a call saying I had one week left to get my account in "good standing" or it would be closed.

Meanwhile, while I am paying them back for their mistake, they are STILL charging me a $30 fee every three days, just for the fact that my account was overdrawn. I am fuming mad by this time. I closed the account, and stopped paying them. I still refuse to pay them a dime.

Read the fine print when you sign their "agreement". It is complete and total BULLCRAP. My boyfriend still belongs to this bank, and he is about fed up with them too. I told him to RUN while he still has a chance.

One other thing, I have a friend who works for Charter One, and she advised me NOT to become one of their customers. Ever notice, how many times the name has changed in the last 5 years, and it is getting ready to change AGAIN???
