Ripoff Tricks People Into A Seminar Lied about job description to lure me into a lecture

Business & Finance

I was called recently for a job interview. I asked what the job was about and he said "design consulting". Being my resume was posted on many job sites but never for consulting I had doubts. I asked where he heard of me and he said "Got your resume from the internet." The only info other then that given to me by the District manager was the company name of "Primerica" and the time for the interview.

Well when I showed up they had a lacky flagging people down to go in the "Back way" because the elevator was broke. So the first real flag went up. After me and I am noticing many people being directed in the back of a large office building. Once down the stairs I was intercepted and headed to a makeshift lounge to wait for my "interview". The manager greeted me shortly had directed me into a 10 x 10 room where 20 or so people were sitting. Some with notepads, others looking business-like as myself and some looking down on their luck.

Well thats when we were told a brief history of the great Primerica. He then explained they are a mortgage company trying to get salesmen for their mortgage company. Broke down the pyramid of the pay structure (we being the last ones with our hands in the pot. Ok I should have walked out right then because this was not the "design consulting" job mentioned. Then they started orientation videos of the company and where we all could end up. I was seriously raging inside but I held my composure. After which a "question" seminar was started with very scripted Q & A going on. They avoided my queries and once mentioned that they will answer any of my questions in his office. Did I mention the training to set up our new careers would be started by refinancing any of our friends and relatives? That was so clever of them. Then the final part was them handing out cards for us to fill out names and numbers of other people who might be interested. I threw the card at them and left. Beware of Primerica people.
