Ok, so my girlfriend and I were really excited as we found out that there is a personal trainer named Pete Griggs who conducts all kind of fitness regimes. But the real reason for the excitement was the fact that he provides with an option for group workout sessions in London. We have recently started dating, but are unable to find enough time with each other. And with the history of obesity in my family, I also needed time for some kind of workout session. So this looked like the perfect solution, we could come to the sessions to work out together and spend the post session time the way we want.
When we met him, it looked great. The only hitch was when I told him my medical history according to family heredity in terms of obesity, he said it means nothing. It should have struck me right there that something is wrong, but my girlfriend later said that he was trying to boost my attitude and approach. I wish she were right.
The first day looked great, though not much of exercise and more of interaction, but next evening onward it was a total mess. Half the members who had joined were missing. After wondering for a while what happened, we continued for the day. But when there were less people again on the 3rd evening, I got curious and enquired. Apparently others wanted a session in the morning. Pete had made a false promise to them saying only the first introductory class was in the evening, rest would follow a morning schedule. And now, they were not able to manage time. Pete came in to suggest we agree for morning sessions, which was impossible for the rest of us. The class was useless, no focus from him or us, and certainly no enthusiasm left in anyone. Next day when we arrived, we were told that we don’t have classes in the evening anymore.
I got furious and wanted to meet Pete. He kept us waiting for 2 hours before finally agreeing to meet. I wanted the money back, but he refused! Apparently, once paid, it is non refundable. We were not informed about this! So I asked him to adjust the same against some other fitness class that we could join, but he demanded separate amounts for those!!! This is daylight robbery on the face of London! After a heated argument when I lost my mind and told him I am going to register a case of forgery and fraud, he hesitated and asked us to wait. We waited for half an hour and came back with the money and requested us not to discuss this with anyone. But I am sharing my experience openly on this forum, so that no one else is ever conned by this arrogant and greedy idiot.
