I like many of you, went bankrupt, shortly thereafter, I received their offer of a credit card, to help "REBUILD" my credit. Stupid me, I fell for it. Paid the proccessing fee, $37.00. Got the card. Thought things were o — kay — . 300.00 limit. With the first statement, I see the start-up fees, which take almost all of your credit crumb. Paid, on time. One time I was a minute late. This was the beginning. The $35.00 late fee. Of course, this put me over the limit. OOps, another $35.00. Then the participation fee. For reporting their victims to the credit bearaeu. Which they would do any way. I have sent payments every month. Have the cancelled checks to prove it.
They still slap me with $70.00 in fees every month. The due date, most times is DUE NOW, which means, you will never get it there in time. I sent them 2 payments in January, this month, and still got the late, and over limit fee. I call the customer no-service number, and get transferred to the debt management department. Here, I get an answering machine. They tell me to leave my name, account number, and ss#, and they will get back to me in 48 hours.
I don't think they want you to resolve anything. They are making millions off people just like you and me. My advice, don't fall for any of these offers of "We will help you rebuild your credit" It is a complete lie. I cancelled my card with them, and 6 with First Premier, 1 with First national bank of marin, 1 with First National CC, and also sears, of course these are all the same story. We are better off with no credit card.
