I was contacted by this company in early October. I spoke with a "Tim Carter" (agent #3801). He promised me an unsecured Visa card with a $2,000 limit. He also said that every 6 months, if my payment history was good, I could apply to have the limit raised. All I had to do was pay a $299 "application and processing fee".

This offer was very appealing to me, as I have poor credit. I went for the offer. I was asked to give my personal information (SSN, bank account info, etc). When he asked for my bank account information, I was a little skeptical, but I figured that since they had my name and address already, they MUST be ligitimate.

After giving all my information, I was promised that I would receive my card within 5 days via FedEx. 15 days later, I contacted them, and was told the card was shipped out via certified mail, and I should receive it by the end of the week. The end of the week passed by, and still no card.

I called back, and was told that they would ship out another card right away, and I should receive it by the end of the week (sound farmiliar?). 2 weeks went by, still no card.

After looking at this site, I came to the conclusion that I would probably NEVER receive my card. I decided to try to get my money back. My bank won't help, since I authorized the $299 charge. So I am trying to get it back from Central.

I have just gotten off the phone with a "Chris Wilson" who tried to tell me he couldn't process a refund request until I received the packet, and he would send another one. I told him no, I didn't want it anymore, and I wanted my money back. He said he couldn't do that without me receiving the packet. I KNEW that if I received it, they could say that they provided a service.

I asked for a supervisor and was informed that there isn't one, but they have managers (talk about splitting hairs). I asked for the manager, Mr. Wilson would not transfer me. After going back and forth for a while, Mr. Wilson put me on hold while he checked with his supervisor (now where the heck did he come from?). After Mr. Wilson came back on, he said that they would investigate the issue and that I should call back in 5 business days.

I will let everyone know what happens.

P.S. - I think the point that Mr. Wilson broke was when I told him the package contained an application for a secured card (based on information from here), and he asked how I knew. I called him out on it, noting he didn't say that it wasn't true, just how I knew if I hadn't received the package.
